desk and bookshelf

Jane Waggoner has just sent over these lovely photos. last year we collaborated with Jane Waggoner, a fabulous interior designer, on the creation and design of a bookshelf and a desk. the substantial, metal bookshelf is fabricated with steel. the shelves are painted a pristine white. this creates an interesting contrast with the existing, natural, steel finish.

the desktop is one of my favorites. first we created a steel border that holds 3 wooden panels. this desk is extremely long. we created the 3 sections not only for visual interest but for support, too. the panels were painted with a high-gloss, turquoise auto paint that you can literally see your reflection in. the desktop is supported by 4 modern filing cabinets jane purchased.

Bracelet Workshop

Brace yourself.

in this workshop you will be making a pewter pendant bracelet with the option of connecting it with chain, leather or beading. first you will create your one pendant design using clay. you will then create the connection with the material of your choice. shannah and i will make a mold, then cast and polish your pewter piece and then connect the pendant to the bracelet. this process takes much more time than the workshop provides, but we will give you a demonstration of the casting process. your bracelet will be ready for pick up in 1 to 2 weeks.

FOURPLY is a collaboration between two interior designers and their significant others. Creators Beth (our friend) and Kevin Dotolo and Jake and Michelle Salz Smith have come together to create handmade, custom, wood objects from exotic, regional, and salvaged woods. They bring fashion forward, handmade, architectural wood designs. These designs can be found at the Nest in Snider Plaza.

Stones and Bones Workshop

treat yourself to something fabulous

in this workshop you will be making a pendant, cuff links, or a brooch out of pewter with the option of incorporating natural stones, rhinestones and bones. you will first create your one design using stones and clay. we will then take that clay design and create a mold. finally we will cast your design into pewter. the pewter will be polished and the stones will be glued in place. the molding, casting and polishing process takes many days. we will be giving a demonstration so you can see firsthand how all these processes work. the piece will be ready for pickup within two weeks.
