We hope everyone had a very Happy Thanksgiving! The holiday season is in full swing and we have so much going on... holiday cards, filling orders, prints of love and more.

Here are a couple of f. is for frank announcements.

1. Prints of Love... The last date to make a prints of love impression to be received by Christmas is Dec. 10th. Schedule your appointment today.

2. The Dallas Flea is this Saturday! It's our last show of 2010, so come by and see us!

3. Can't make it to the show, but still want to pick out some f. is for frank gifts? Just come by the studio @ 1216 manufacturing st. dallas tx 75207.

Baby handprints...

Since Walker is not the ideal age for the Prints of Love, I tried casting his handprint to see how it would turn out. It turned out so CUTE! It is going to make great ornaments and paperweights. I love that I will have his tiny handprint captured in time.

If you are interested in having your baby's handprint cast... give us a call (214.7749.0709) or email (casey@fisforfrank.com) to set up an appointment for the impression. It only takes about 10 minutes and about 2-3 weeks for us to cast. Due to the size limitations we recommend the babies be younger than 5 months. The price of the baby handprint is $65.00 for the first casting and $35.oo for any additionals.

I subscribe to "Google Alerts". It lets me know when someone mentions anything about f. is for frank. This weekend through Google Alerts, I came across this blogpost by Oh So Cynthia. It was very flattering, so I thought I would share.

Walker's Week

We, here at f. is for frank, had a lot of desk work this week.

Walker turned 3 months old on Monday and
with age comes more responsibility.

So Monday, we gave him his own desk.

He crunched some numbers, drew some designs and called it a day.

Tuesday, Walker pooped on his outfit. I told him we all have shitty days.

He decided to take the rest of the day off.

Wednesday morning, we are all smiles.

It's more like our Friday because we are going to Florida tomorrow

to meet our Great Grandmother & Grandaddy.

Happy Wedding Day!

Something happened at f. is for frank yesterday that just doesn't happen every day. This cute couple stopped by our shop on their way to the courthouse to get married. They wanted to pick out her ring and find him a memorable piece to wear! The bride chose the pewter twig band and the groom picked out a wedding day woodgrain belt buckle. After their purchase, they hurried out the door to beat the 5 o' clock traffic. I loved the spontaneity and felt honored to be a part of their special day! CONGRATS!

The Sixth Floor Museum

The Sixth Floor Museum in Dallas, TX approached us about creating some handmade donor gifts and this is what we came up with. The bookend and paperweight are cast polyester resin with an aluminum overlay cut to resemble the ceiling tiles in the museum. I think they are beautiful....pieces of art with a function!

Today, Shannah and I went over to Ft. Worth to install a small sculpture we created for TCU in honor of Breast Cancer awareness month. On top of that we got to enjoy this perfect weather out on the patio at Joe T' s for lunch.

After the Party....

After Audrey's party, we turned their beautiful clay creations into pewter. Here is a sneak peak at the process........

Audrey's French Fete @ f. is for frank

Bon Anniversaire, Audrey!

Audrey chose to have her 7th birthday party with 14 girlfriends at our studio. We were so flattered! The party had a French theme and was a total blast! The fun began with a tour of how we make pewter jewelry, then the girls got a chance to sculpt a pendant of their very own. They also beaded a bracelet to go with their amazing pendants. Audrey's mom set up a special photo spot to take polaroids of each of the party goers. The event was topped off with a little cake and lemonade. Voila'!! What a fantastic French party!!

Walker's 1st Work Week

Walker has entered the world!!! Three weeks of family and now it's back to work. I know I don't have to go back this early, but I hate being cooped up in the house so I thought I would try it out. Monday I really had no expectations. I mean, 3 dogs and a baby sounds like a disaster. Much to my surprise, it has actually been great! When Walker is sleeping (which is a lot), I can be in the back working on casting or polishing. When he is awake, I am up front on my computer or packaging. He is at my fingertips at all times. For the most part, I work 11 to 3... just taking it day by day.

Rikshaw Design is hosting a pop-up shop at Little Bean, in celebration of the one-year anniversary of Little Bean, on September 3! Rikshaw designer Catherine Fitzsimmons will be there selling her collection of chic, bohemian baby bedding and apparel, as well as her new women’s kurtas and adult bedding…all hand-blocked and made from super-soft Indian cotton voile. (The baby apparel is so amazing!)

Hosted by Little Bean and Simple Lovely, guests will also enjoy sweets, face painting, and lots of champagne!

A little help from my friends... but not from the AC

I have been very fortunate to have my old friend Aryn Dalton, amazing artist and musician, here helping me out while Casey is home with Walker. Unfortunately for both of us, it is hotter than blazes around these parts! Poor Aryn has been casting pewter for two days, which means he has to stand over the pewter pot that is 550 degrees. Above is a shot of our thermostat. It reads 94 and that is with the air on! I am thinking about closing shop for the month of August, but I am not sure that all the clients who are waiting on their projects would be happy about that! Think cool thoughts for us...it a scorcher!
